All of us are aware of the saying Laughter is the best medicine. It is also most difficult to make someone laugh is another truth! Yet, sincere attempts never really fail. A new sitcom named Parks and Recreation is one of those genuine attempts from the makers of the hit television comedy show, THE OFFICE.

The star cast comprising of Amy Poehler in the main lead along with other actors Aziz Ansari, Rashida Jones, Aubrey Plaza, Paul Schneider, and Nick Offerman. The pilot episode was broadcasted on 9th April on NBC. Leslie Knope, the lead character, is a mid-level Parks and Recreation Department bureaucrat in Pawnee, IN, who aims to be in the spotlight with her ultimate goal of becoming President of United States.

Poehler adds soul to the character by her performance. Different kinds of characters surround her making it a situational comedy. Rashida Jones of THE OFFICE fame joins Leslie in her effort to transform an ugly dirt pit into a recreation park. The reactions to the first episode by the viewers were not so encouraging. Amy fans are still rooting for her and are willing to watch her however; the new mass of population has not so good things to talk about the show. The ability to make the audience laugh loud was said to be missing as per a common feedback from the viewers.
